Mulberry Run Thoroughbred Farm is located in beautiful Shelbyville, Kentucky, approximately 35 miles west of Lexington. Mulberry Run controls over 40 thoroughbred broodmares that are kept at this facility, or our Paris, KY boarding farm for breeding, foaling and racing.
Our broodmares are generally stakes winners who have proven their worthiness on the track prior to breeding. We breed our mares to a variety of millionaire studs standing both in Kentucky, and in nearby states. We support the Kentucky racing industry, and both race our home bred horses, and sell yearlings through a variety of auctions and top internet sites like http://www.equibreed.com. We take pride in our developed breeding program and have experienced a number of successes from that program.
Mulberry Run Farm strives for perfection in the breeding and development of our horses. Each individual mating decision is meticulously researched with an advanced database of superior sires, to achieve a sure runner. The program only begins there. Through a comprehensive and proven health program, we continue to develop the broodmare’s pregnancy by ensuring top feeds, healthy grazing, and rigorous exercise. All designed to ensure optimum fetal growth and development.
Mulberry Run also offers a full-service bloodstock program that offers auction representation at every major Kentucky sale, and the ability to buy and sell stallion seasons, shares, and performance horses publicly or privately. We assist our clients with a portfolio management program to help them achieve their goals in the equine business. Acquiring a Thoroughbred is difficult task at best, owning a stakes winner without due diligence and consultation is improbable. Our bloodstock representation and consultative approach help your operation ensure a smooth transaction, effective breeding analysis, and overall business management.
Mulberry Run was officially founded in 1995 by one of the nation’s top technology company CEO’s. His innovative vision and energy over the past 20 years have lead Fortune 500 corporations to successfully reinvent business processes. He has now transposed this vision to the thoroughbred industry and areas like hypothetical mating or “nicking” as it is referred to in the industry.
